Summer (downstate)
When envisioning the set of albums Upstate (Winter) and Downstate (Summer) I pictured myself trying to encapsulate the beauty of opposing forces. As I sat here 4 hours ago turning of the air conditioning and scratching my legs because of a fierce case of poison ivy, I started to wonder if what I was doing was wise. The emotive voice I was able to find, however, was strangely compelling.
If you click through and listen to or buy Downstate, I think you will enjoy it, however “rough” it might be.
Thanks,
Johnny

Summer 2015
It’s been a whirlwind of a month (that being July) I’ve been keeping extremely busy, mostly learning, relearning and recording Bob Dylan’s Masterpiece Blood on the Tracks which is a masters class in songwriting. I can only hope to have even an ounce of whatever majick was in the air when Dylan wrote that album. I also started composing a compendium to the music I’ve written over the past fifteen years, which will be titled revival: selected poems, stories and lyrics 2000-2015.
You’ll have a chance to download it or buy a copy for yourself in the next few weeks.
peace and love
